somofit Member Spotlight: Marisa G.
Marisa has been part of the somofit community for the past nine months. During that time, the club has become an important part of how she prioritizes her health and cares for herself during one of the busiest and most meaningful chapters of her life.
Born and raised in Sonoma County, Marisa has deep roots in the community she now serves as a real estate agent. After losing her home in the 2017 fires, she couldn’t see herself relocating. Instead, she earned her real estate license that same year and has been helping others find homes in Sonoma County ever since.
Described by friends as energetic, funny, and passionate, Marisa brings that same enthusiasm to both her family and her career.
These days, life revolves around family, motherhood, and a career she genuinely loves.
“My son is 9 months old and he is my motivation for everything.”
She and her husband are both members of somofit and enjoy staying active together as a family.
Outside of somofit and real estate, you’ll most often find Marisa spending time with her husband, son, and their two dogs. Her perfect day starts with morning cuddles, followed by a family hike at Howarth Park, a goal of 10,000 steps, and ending with great food from a local restaurant.
“Just a day with my family is all I ever need.”
Motherhood, Business & Balance
The past year has been one of the biggest and busiest of Marisa’s life.
“Last year was my best year in real estate and it also was the same year I became a mom.”
Like many new mothers, Marisa found herself learning how to balance a growing business, a growing family, and her own well-being.
She’s also proud of the commitment she’s made to her health throughout that journey.
“I am also proud of losing so much of my baby weight and staying active as a busy mom.”
Movement as Self-Care
Fitness has been part of Marisa’s life for as long as she can remember.
She grew up around the gym, got her first membership at age 12, and spent several years powerlifting in her late teens.
Today, her relationship with fitness looks a little different.

“After I had my baby, everything totally changed, but staying active is therapy.”
For Marisa, movement isn’t about competition anymore. It’s about creating space for herself.
“Coming to somofit is truly my time to decompress and do self care.”
When asked what fitness means to her right now, her answer comes quickly:
“IT IS EVERYTHING!!!!”
Finding Confidence Again
Returning to fitness after having a baby brought its own challenges.
“It was really hard for me to realize how much my body has changed after having a baby.”
The fact that she continues to invest in her health and stay active is something she’s especially proud of during this season of life.
“The fact that I continue to still invest in my health and stay active makes me so happy.”
Family First
When asked what keeps her motivated to move, Marisa’s answer is immediate.
“My family!”

More specifically, her son.
“I want to stay fit and active for my son and show that it is so important to include movement daily.”
He also serves as her greatest source of inspiration.
“When I think what am I doing this for, I just think about his sweet face.”
In the Room
When asked about her favorite coach, Marisa doesn’t hesitate.
“Conny is EVERYTHING.”
She credits Conny with helping her feel comfortable returning to a gym after becoming a mom.
“She is so fantastic and kind! She brings all the vibes for every single class and really pushes you.”
After taking time away, that support made all the difference.
“After I had my baby I was so nervous to come back to the gym but she made me feel so welcome and safe.”
Community & Connection
Community is important to Marisa.
One of her favorite parts of somofit is meeting new people and being surrounded by a welcoming community.
“I love meeting all the wonderful people! Everyone is so nice and very welcoming.”
Soundtrack & Recovery
If Marisa’s week had a soundtrack, it would be powered by house music.
“Any energetic music always gets me going!”
One song that never fails to lift her mood?
“Brighter Days” by Cajmere.
When it’s time to recover, her routine is simple:
15-minute sauna
3-minute cold plunge
10 minutes of red light therapy
Stretch

Balance & Moving With Purpose
Marisa’s definition of balance is refreshingly simple.
“Balance is moving your body daily but also taking all the rest you need as well.”
It’s a perspective that reflects this season of life—one that requires equal parts movement, recovery, and flexibility.
One lesson movement has taught her that applies outside the club?
“To stay humble always.”
And when it comes to moving with purpose:
“Giving everything I got!”
For Marisa, staying active isn’t about competition or chasing milestones. It’s about caring for herself, showing up for her family, and building healthy habits that she hopes to pass on to her son.
